Who Approved This? ‘Jumanji’ Reboot Will NOT Feature a Magical Board Game

The folks behind ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ shared some more details about the film at Sony Pictures’ CinemaCon 2017 opening night presentation.

Everybody knows that the story of ‘Jumanji’ is centered around a board game that opens up a portal to an alternate universe. Unfortunately the new version will NOT feature the classic board game.

Instead, the board game is being swapped out for a classic 90s-era video game console.

A group of misbehaving teens find the console during a detention session in their high school and are transported into the game itself where they take on altar-ego avatars played by Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan.

‘Jumanji’ isn’t ‘Jumanji’ without the board game. Sorry.
