Anthony Anderson to Host NAACP Image Awards for the Third Time

Emmy-nominated actor Anthony Anderson has been announced as the host of the 49th NAACP Image Awards.

This will be the ‘Black-ish’ star’s third time hosting.

The awards show will air live January 15, 2018, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on TV One. Anderson hosted the 47th and 48th NAACP Image Awards and won a trophy multiple times for his role on “black-ish.”

In addition, voting is open for the NAACP “Entertainer of the Year.” The winner will be revealed during the two-hour telecast. The six nominees are: Chadwick Boseman, Ava DuVernayBruno MarsIssa RaeChance the Rapper, and Jay-Z. Voting is open to the general public by visiting the NAACP Image Awards website. Voting closes on Friday, November 17. The President’s Award and Chairman’s Award, which recognizes individuals who demonstrate exemplary public service and use their distinct platforms to create agents of change, will also be rewarded during the ceremony.

The 49th NAACP Image Awards production team will be returning including Executive Producers Reginald Hudlin and Phil Gurin, Tony McCuin as Director, Byron Phillips as Producer, and Robin Reinhardt as Talent Producer.
