If you’ve been on Twitter at any point within the last 24 hours, you’ve probably seen the hashtag #CrimingWhileWhite and as of this morning,  #AliveWhileBlack.

It all started yesterday after hundreds of stories from the White perspective about their interactions with police and law enforcement personnel were told along with the hashtag #CrimingWhileWhite.

Basically — a bunch of white people are confessing about the times they’ve broken the law and have gotten away with it.

Take a look at some of them:

Shortly after, people who identify as Black began the #AliveWhileBlack hashtag to illustrate what dealing with not only law enforcement, but everyday people is like while living on the opposite end of the spectrum.

While we’ve all probably heard stories about racial injustice — especially when dealing with law enforcement — it’s another thing to read these experiences being told firsthand.

We’d encourage you all to read more of the #CrimingWhileWhite and #AliveWhileBlack tweets. They’re truly eye-opening.
