Jen Shah Says She Wants to ‘Reconcile’ with Her Victims: ‘People Got Hurt’

Jen Shah is in prison — but before she surrendered to serve a 78-month sentence, she took to Instagram on Friday to express remorse for her actions.

The “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star, 49, said a post on Instagram Friday that her reporting to prison is “the price I must pay for the bad decisions I made.”

“People got hurt because of my decisions,” she continued. “While incarcerated, I will work to make amends and reconcile with the victims of my crime.”

Shah then drove her followers to a “link in [her] bio” that takes them to an interview on YouTube, in which she speaks about how she was “lying to herself” because she didn’t want to “believe” that she had committed an actual crime.

“In time, I pray that people will judge me for the way I responded to this sentence, rather than only for the decisions that led me to prison,” the reality star added in her post.

Shah said she plans to “publish” her work to “invite” others to hold her accountable — although it is unclear what kind of work will be published.

She then concluded, “I am a believer in earning freedom, and I’ll work toward the goal by making things right with the people I hurt.”

The comments section of the post were turned off. It also noted in the caption that updates will continued to be shared via “an administrator.”

Shah’s regret-filled remarks are reminiscent of a statement her lawyer Priya Chaudhry released earlier this week, in which she said her client was “prepared to face challenges” before heading into prison.

“Jen Shah’s resolve to make her victims whole and to turn her life around is unyielding,” the attorney added on Thursday.

“She is committed to serving her sentence with courage and purpose, fueled by her desire to make amends for the hurt she has caused and to help others in her new community.”

However, less than two months ago, Shah sent a very different message when she was seen celebrating her sentencing with a lavish dinner party on Jan. 6.

Page Six exclusively reported at the time that the Bravolebrity was seen boozing it up at an Italian restaurant hours after a judge sentenced her to six-and-a-half years in prison.

Earlier that day, though, Shah told the judge in court, “I want to apologize by saying, I am doing all I can to earn the funds to pay restitution” and blamed her “longstanding untreated mental issues” that caused her to “create my own fractured reality.”

The disgraced TV personality is serving her time at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, which is a minimum security facility for women.

Jen’s so dramatic. She’ll always have a future in reality television.
