Chrisette Michele is not backing down from defending her decision to perform for Donald Trump.
“I am the black song Spike Lee won’t sing, I am the black voice inauguration bells ring,” Chrisette Michele sings in the opening of her new spoken word track “No Political Genius.”
The track comes just a few hours after she co-signed a “F*ck you” letter to Spike Lee as presented by her husband for pulling Chrisette’s song from his Netflix series.

In the ‘song,’ Chrisette also name drops others who have criticized her decision — including Questlove.
