Wendy Williams found herself in a bit of new controversy Monday after making joke about the death of Amie Harwick, a model-turned-sex therapist who was once engaged toThe Price Is Right host Drew Carey.
via Daily Beast:
The LAPD says Harwick died in a fall from a third-floor balcony during an attack by ex-boyfriend Gareth Pursehouse, who has been arrested on suspicion of murder. On her show, Williams referenced the crime and then said, “Come on down!”—Carey’s signature phrase in the game show—while tilting her head to the floor as though she was watching someone fall.
Needless to say, social media hasn’t taken too kind to Wendy’s joke. Take a look:

The comment you made regarding Dr. Amie Harwick’s death was vulgar, tasteless and heartless. she was a good person, who was a victim of a senseless crime.

#WendyWilliams Joachim Phoenix, The LGBTQ Community, now mocking the tragic way Amie fell to her DEATH? You need to get your ass back in REHAB, as you MUST be high with the CRAZY shit you are saying. “Wendy Williams apologizes” is already a tired headline.

I KNOW #WendyWilliams did NOT just make a "come on down" joke about Drew Carey's ex-fiancee getting killed by being thrown off of a third floor balcony !!!!
Somebody tell me i heard that wrong, please..but the audience is stone-cold quiet..— AuntKimmie (@AuntKimmie_GG) February 17, 2020
Wendy Williams made a joke about this *sadly Amie was pushed off a balcony* Wendy said “Come on down” referring to what they say on the Price Is Right, but also to Amie falling to her death. Was it too soon for that joke? Thoughts? https://t.co/jDETRjoxPh
