Focus Pictures has released the first teaser for the upcoming Jesse Owens biopic Race.
Stephan James, which many of you may recognize from Degrassi: The Next Generation and Selma, portrays the four-time Olympic gold medalist in the film, which arrives in theaters on February 19, 2016.
Based on the incredible true story of Jesse Owens, the legendary athletic superstar whose quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics, where he faces off against Adolf Hitler’s vision of Aryan supremacy. “Race” is an enthralling film about courage, determination, tolerance, and friendship, and an inspiring drama about one man’s fight to become an Olympic legend.

In case you missed it, quite a few Jesse Owens biopics are in the works, and you can expect Anthony Mackie to portray the American track and field athlete in one of the upcoming films.
