A tanker truck drove into a crowd of protesters blocking an interstate near downtown Minneapolis on Sunday.
He didn’t keep driving though — and eventually the protestors pulled him out of his truck and beat him down.
In video of the incident, a large crowd on a bridge quickly parts and flees as a tanker truck barrels down at full speed on I-35, a freeway that had reportedly been closed off to car traffic.
When the driver finally comes to a stop in the middle of the road, the marchers surround the car and pull the driver out of the truck’s cab. They start punching and kicking him, video shows.
Officials later said no protesters appeared to have been hit in the terrifying incident, according to the Associated Press.
Minnesota State Patrol described the actions of the driver as deliberate. The driver was injured and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but there was no information regarding how the driver was hurt.

Today I witnessed pure evil. Thousands and thousands of protestors were PEACEFULLY marching the streets to demand #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd and a gas truck came barreling through the crowd.
