Jharrel Jerome is now an Emmy-winner.
The young actor just nabbed the award for ‘Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie’ for his portrayal of Korey Wise in the Ava Duvernay-directed Netflix mini-series ‘When They See Us.’
He beat out Mahershala Ali (True Detective), Benicio Del Toro (Escape at Dannemora), Hugh Grant (A Very English Scandal), Jared Harris (Chernobyl) and Sam Rockwell (Fosse/Verdon) — making him becomes the fourth and youngest Black actor in the Emmy’s 71 year history to win.
