Beyoncé & Jay Z recently made news after announcing the two were going on a 22-day vegan (or as Jay likes to call it, “plant-based”) diet, but true vegans aren’t too happy with Mrs. Carter.
Bey was spotted with Jay entering Native Foods in Westwood, Los Angeles, on Thursday for lunch — and while the two seem to be sticking to their diet, Beyoncé made it clear that their newfound veganism strictly pertains to food.
The singer was wearing a $4,700 Christopher Kane wool-blend parka with a collar made of real fox fur.
For those of you who don’t know, Veganism is defined the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, as well as following an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of sentient animals.
Note, we’re fully aware there’s a difference between a eating a vegan diet and living a vegan lifestyle, but as Jay put it, the two were prepared to “embark on a 22 Day challenge to go completely vegan.”
This isn’t exactly that.
We can only imagine the combination of stares Bey got not only from adoring fans but animal lovers alike.
But hey, she’s a grown woman. She can do whatever she wants…
