Taylor Swift has apologized to Nicki Minaj.
The pop singer and emcee were involved in a Twitter spat on Tuesday when Taylor responded to a series of tweets she felt Nicki had directed at her.
In case you missed it, Nicki was upset that Anaconda was not nominated for Video of the Year at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. When she spoke on her disappointment, she highlighted that had she been an “other” artist (in other words, white and slim), Anaconda would have received more recognition.
Because Taylor is the only white woman nominated for Video of the Year, she thought Nicki was calling her out and tweeted the emcee. The two then engaged in a short back-and-forth.
This morning, Taylor apologized, admitting that she “missed the point.”
See Taylor’s apology below.
I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I’m sorry, Nicki. @NICKIMINAJ
