Empire star Taraji P. Henson is the latest celebrity face to join the NOH8 campaign to end hate, violence, and discrimination against the LGBT community.

In fact, the entire cast of Empire is participating in the campaign. NOH8 is a non-profit organization that promotes marriage, gender, and human equality.

“A lot of people can be homophobic, I feel,” Empire creator, Lee Daniels, told Out magazine. “The content opens you up. Music is universal. Not just from a racial perspective but also a sexual perspective.”

As you’ve probably seen, Empire deals heavily with homophobia as Jamal (played by Jussie Smollett) struggles getting his high-profile family to accept his sexuality as he pursues a career in the music industry.

Don’t miss the new episode of Empire, airing tonight on FOX.
