Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw’s daughter, Mikaela, announced that she was embarking on a career in porn last week.
Although she said that her father was supportive of her decision, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Sources close to the family that the director was ’embarrassed’ by her announcement.

“Outwardly, Steven and Kate — who are the most evolved parents in the world and love their kids beyond all measure — have always been supportive of Mikaela and try to understand her,” a family friend told the outlet. “Obviously, though, they’re embarrassed by her sudden public admission of entry into the sex worker world.”
Last week, Mikaela, who is adopted, announced that she would be creating self-produced porn and fetish videos under the name “Sugar Star,” with the hopes of gaining financial freedom, while also satisfying her needs as a self-described “sexual creature.” Mikaela told The Sun that her parents were actually intrigued by her work and not upset by her decision.
And while Page Six’s sources say that Spielberg’s career will be just fine, he is concerned about how her actions will impact her siblings.
“Nothing can hurt Steven Spielberg’s immaculate reputation, nor Kate’s, but they’re worried about how [Mikaela’s revelation] looks for their other kids, who are trying to be supportive but who are also embarrassed,” the source continued. “This certainly isn’t how they were raised.”
The source went on to explain that the pressures of growing up a Spielberg may have taken their town on Mikaela. “[Steven and Kate] are friends with many artistic people, and those people are complicated and some have complicated kids. Everybody gets it. Some kids, no matter what advantages — or even because of them — are just lost,” the source speculated. “Maybe Mikaela felt unworthy of her folks, of her name, that she could never live up to it. It’s hard to be the product of parents who are so successful.”
We can imagine that hearing your daughter is going into porn isn’t the easiest thing to deal with — but we hope she has a strong support system. She’s going to need it.
