Heather Carpenter, a substitute teacher in Sarasota County was upset over a complaint with the school she was working.

She decided to take her frustrations out at a 7-year-old girl’s party in a nearby park by smearing human feces on barbecue grills and wooden tables.

Seven tables and two grills had to be replaced.

One eyewitness recalled spotting a woman in the park wearing a blue mask and gloves dabbing excrement on the tables and grills under a pavilion at Urfer Family Park in the early morning of Dec. 1, 2018. According to an affidavit, the witness reported the incident to Sarasota County government representatives, who called the sheriff’s office, reported the Bradenton Herald.

Authorities learned a child’s birthday party and another event were planned for the morning of Dec. 1 at the park’s pavilion. They spoke with the organizer of the party, who was a Sarasota County Schools administrator, according to the affidavit.

The administrator said she invited her child’s classmates to the party. That included a child whose mother was Carpenter, whom the administrator had argued with earlier, according to the affidavit. Carpenter was “not pleased with how the situation was handled,” the administrator told detectives.

Carpenter, 42, admitted she smeared fecal matter on the park property when investigators interrogated her at home six days later and was arrested. She said she wanted to disrupt the party because she was displeased with how the administrator handled the complaint, reported TV station WWSB.

Carpenter was charged with third-degree felony criminal mischief.

What a sh*tty thing to do.
