Say What Now? Woman Hit in Face in NYC Subway Station By Stranger Yelling Anti-Asian Slurs

A woman was hit in the face for no apparent reason while minding her business in a subway station by a stranger who yelled anti-Asian slurs at her.

via NYDN:

The 37-year-old victim was walking through the E. 51st St. station on Lexington Ave. when the bigot attacked her about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, cops said.

He hit her and used a slur against Asian people, shouting, “You f—ing c—. You should go back to your country. This is all because of you.”

He ran out of the station after attacking her. The victim declined medical treatment.

Cops released surveillance images of the suspect and are asking the public’s help identifying him and tracking him down.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.

Through March 21, the NYPD recorded 22 bias attacks on Asian-Americans in the city this year, compared to zero during the same time frame last year.

Authorities say such incidents are vastly underreported and the true figures are likely to be much higher. NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea recently urged victims to come forward.
