Say What Now? Elderly Couple Arrested with $336,000 Worth of Marijuana They Said Was for Christmas Presents [Photos]

Sheriff’s deputies in Nebraska stopped a pickup truck earlier this week when they noticed it was driving over the center line and the driver kept failing to signal.

As deputies approached the vehicle, they noticed a strong smell of marijuana.

80-year-old Patrick Jiron and 83-year-old Barbara Jiron said they were from northern California and were en route to Boston and Vermont. Deputies asked Patrick about the odor and he admitted to having marijuana and also consented to a search of the vehicle.

Deputies searched the Toyota Tacoma with assistance from the county’s canine unit and discovered 60 pounds of marijuana along with several containers of concentrated THC.

“They said the marijuana was for Christmas presents,” Lt. Paul Vrbka told the York News-Times.

The department estimated the street value of the pot at over $3oo,000. Both Patrick and Barbara face felony charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp.

We bet the people on their Christmas list are pissed.
