Say What Now? $13 Million Worth of Meth Found in a Truck Delivering Frozen Strawberries

A truck driver crossing the U.S.-Mexico border has been arrested after custom officials stationed in Texas discovered he was transporting nearly $13 million of meth hidden within shipment of frozen strawberries.

via Complex:

Customs and Border Protection released a statement saying officers at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge cargo facility came into contact with a 42-year-old man who had allegedly tried to transport the fruit/drug combo into the U.S. on Saturday, Feb. 16. The officers made the discovery after referring the shipment for further inspection, which is said to have yielded 350 concealed packages of meth. Officers said the total quantity (906 lbs.) had a value of $12.7 million.

You probably could’ve guessed it, but the driver is in the custody of Homeland Security Investigations agents where he’s being “further investigated.” Texas officials add that the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge is a major U.S.-Mexico entry point that provides passage for about 175,000 cars per month.

Whoever was waiting on that shipment is probably REALLY upset.
