The First ‘Black Panther’ Teaser Trailer Has Arrived and It’s Incredible [Video]

It’s not often we’re THIS excited for a superhero film, but Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ seems to be dripping in Black-excellence.

The first teaser trailer for the film aired during game four of the NBA finals.

In the clip, we get to see Chadwick Boseman reprise his role as T’Challa, the Black Panther. We also get a peek of Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger, a Wakandan exile who sets out to dethrone the Black Panther.

In the new spot, viewers are welcomed to the African kingdom of Wakanda, the camera flying in between a trio of roaring waterfalls as Andy Serkis’ Klaw, in an interrogation room with Martin Freeman, labels it “El Dorado.” The scenic views were the perfect backdrop for Boseman’s Black Panther, seen in action taking out a number of armed gunmen creeping through the jungle. We then see that Boseman is watching Serkis’ exchange with Freeman through a window.

“The world is changing,” a voiceover narrates as masked infiltrators blow up the wall to the interrogation room. “Soon, there will only be the conquered and the conquerors.”

Plenty of action is shown in the kingdom of Wakanda, both futuristic and with swords and spears. “You are a good man with a good heart,” the narration continues, referencing Boseman’s King T’Challa. “It is hard for a good man to be a king.”

For Boseman’s own solo movie, he’ll be joined by Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan and Danai Gurira as the action relocates to T’Challa’s home, where civil unrest threatens to spiral into a potential worldwide conflict.

The movie will also see the Marvel return of Freeman, reprising his role from Civil War, and Avengers: Age ofUltron’s Serkis.

We can’t wait! Check out the trailer below.
