We all know that Michael Jackson and Prince had a…difficult relationship. Due to their relative positions in Black music and entertainment, they were often pitted against each other in the media.

In newly-uncovered recordings obtained by The Mirror, Michael Jackson can be heard revealing his true thoughts about The Purple One.

“I don’t like to be compared to Prince at all,” said Michael.

“I have proven myself since I was real little. It’s not fair. He feels like I’m his opponent. I hope he changes because boy, he’s gonna get hurt. He’s the type that might commit suicide or something,” he continued.

The shade! Michael also branded Prince as “rude” and “nasty.”

“He was so rude, one of rudest people I have ever met. Prince is very competitive. He has been very mean and nasty to my family.”

The last bit of the recording has MJ sounding off on a performance he gave alongside Prince and James Brown.

“[He] Made a fool of himself. He was a joke,” Michael recalled of Prince’s performance.“People were running and screaming. I was so embarrassed. It was all on video.”

Ouch.
