R&B recording artist Michel’le Toussaint is joining forces with Thinkfactory Media to create a scripted television movie about her life.
The project, currently titled Girl from the Hood, will detail Michel’le’s rise to fame, her volatile relationships with Dr. Dre and Suge Knight and her subsequent triumphs.
Michel’le and Thinkfactory will also partner on a documentary about her life.
Michel’le released the following statement about her upcoming projects:
“I am so excited about my partnership with Thinkfactory Media. For many years I was unwilling to share my personal experiences. I am now ready to open up about my career, relationships and family” (Variety).
Given the resurfacing of abuse allegations at the hands of Dr. Dre following the success of Straight Outta Compton this summer, both projects should be interesting.
