Michael Sam Announces His Departure from CFL's Montreal Alouettes, Concerned with His Mental Health

On Friday night, Michael Sam took to Twitter to announce his departure from the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes.

Michael had signed a one-year deal (with an option to play in 2016) with the Alouettes in May but left training camp in June, citing personal reasons. He was subsequently placed on the team’s suspended list.

Although Michael did play in the Alouettes’ August 7 game, his performance wasn’t particularly memorable.

Michael once again cited personal reasons for stepping away from football at this time.

See his tweets below.

Good luck, Michael.
