Lupita Nyong’o in Talks to Star as Female Lead in Upcoming Star Wars Film

The force may just be with Lupita Nyong’o.

According to sources, the Oscar-winning actress is in talks to star in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII after meeting with J.J. Abrams a few weeks ago — before the Academy Awards.

Because of the secrecy, it is unclear which role it could be. One possibility is that she’ll be playing a descendent of Obi-Wan Kenobi, which has been described as a non-Caucasian role.

If she was in the running before, having an Academy Award can only help her chances, right?
