It has been nearly a year since Michael Strahan abruptly left Live! and now Kelly Ripa will finally announce who they’ve chosen to fill his spot.
Last April, Michael announced that he’d be leaving Live! for the Good Morning America after four years – and Kelly had no idea it was coming. The departure caused major tensions behind-the-scenes and speculation ran rampant.

As for why it took so long to find a proper replacement, Kelly told Andy Cohen during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, that, “We really didn’t set a timeframe for ourselves, we just wanted to wait until we found the right person.”
She continued, “What we didn’t anticipate was that we would have such an outpouring of interest, so our list got very long very quickly. So we’ve been trying to keep it as narrow as possible, but then people pop up.”
