The next ‘Divas’ franchise is headed to Hollywood!
TV One announced the launch of an actress-centered spinoff to it’s R&B Divas franchise. Hollywood Divas is currently in production in L.A and will star Elise Neal (The Hughleys), Golden Brooks (Girlfriends), Paula Jai Parker (Hustle and Flow), Countess Vaughn (The Parkers) and Lisa Wu (Real Housewives of Atlanta).
According to the press release, the show will follow the ladies as they attempt to stay relevant in the industry. This will be the first show from Real Housewives of Atlanta executive producer Carlos King’s own production company, Kingdom Reign Entertainment. RHOA’s Todd Tucker is an executive producer of the show as well.
D’Angela Proctor, Senior Vice President of Programming and Production for TV One, said:
“TV One’s audience has a passion for programming that reveals the private stories behind the public lives of Black artists. The Hollywood Divas‘ willingness to share their experiences with inequality and obstacles when it comes to the Hollywood merry-go-round is the foundation of this series. How these women are personally affected by this phenomenon and how they individually handle the pressure, is where the Hollywood Diva stories begins.”
The show’s slated for Q4 2014, so it will be on our airwaves shortly!
