Hidden Figures is off to a great start at this weekend’s box office.
After pulling in an impressive $1.2 million from Thursday night previews, the inspiring film generated $7.6 million at the Friday box office, narrowly beating Rogue One and the animated comedy Sing.
Although Hidden Figures prevailed on Friday, it’s still in a close race for the top spot at this weekend’s box office.
According to reports, Rogue One is expected to finish in first place with roughly $24 million, while Hidden Figures could earn anywhere between $21 and $23 million for a third or second place finish.
Fueled by an A+ CinemaScore, Hidden Figures could, however, exceed expectations and top the weekend box office if it performs strongly today and Sunday.
Either way, Hidden Figures is a big success, so congratulations to its amazing cast!
