Do you remember a few months ago when we told you a truly heartwarming story about a young boy who decided to go without his prosthetic eye after being inspired by rapper Fetty Wap?

If you don’t, grab some tissue and click here to read his mother’s open ‘thank you’ note to Fetty.

Fast forward to last week, 11-year-old Jayden Burgos got to meet his inspiration in person!

via People:

Burgos wore a prosthetic eye for years after losing his eye to retinoblastoma two weeks after his first birthday – but when he saw that Wap was also missing an eye, he decided to go to school without wearing his prosthesis.

“I’m happy I got to meet Jayden and his family,” Wap, 24, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “He is a really cool kid! It meant a lot to me personally to finally make his wish happen. It’s definitely a day we’ll both remember!”

Wap invited Burgos to meet him backstage during his Feb. 24 Monster Outbreak Energy Tour stop in Denver and even gifted him with #RemyBoyz gear.
Burgos’ mom Brenda Vaden wrote about her son’s decision to remove his prosthetic eye in an emotional Facebook post.

“He has always been terrified of taking it out and would not be caught without it … and then comes along Fetty Wap,” she wrote. “Today, after weeks of asking, Jayden is venturing the world without his prosthetic. I of course am a wreck because this world can be cruel, but so proud.”

Vaden’s post got the attention of Wap himself, who commended Burgos for his bravery.

“I’m glad that I was able to give him the courage to take out his prosthesis,” he told PEOPLE at the time. “I know how it feels to be picked on. I’ve been talked about my whole entire life. The only difference now is they’re saying good things about the guy with one eye. I’m proud of Jayden and I appreciate him more than he may know.”

Fetty Wap will always have a gold star in our book for this one.
