FBI Announces $25,000 Reward for Information Involving 2018 Baltimore Double Murder of Mother, Daughter

(BALTIMORE)—The FBI announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of anyone responsible for the April 2018 murder of Chanette Neal and Justice Allen, who were shot and killed in their home in West Baltimore.

Neal and her daughter, Allen, were fatally shot after an individual or individuals entered their home in the Penrose neighborhood shortly after noon on April 4, 2018. Police said they believe the suspect knew who they were after.

FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) Cheyvoryea Gibson made the announcement, March 4, 2020, at the FBI’s Baltimore Field Office. He was joined by Deputy Commissioner Michael Sullivan from the Baltimore Police Department and Col. Robert McCullough of the Baltimore County Police Department. Investigators believe information in this case may provide relevant leads in solving other violent crimes in both Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Shortly after the announcement, FBI special agents, task force officers, and Baltimore Police detectives flooded the Penrose neighborhood with fliers announcing the reward. In addition to the neighborhood outreach the FBI launched a social media campaign and are using several electronic billboards throughout the area to raise awareness of the new reward.

“Someone, somewhere knows something, and that information is the key that will open the prison door to put the killer or killers behind bars,” said ASAC Gibson. “So far, that person has not spoken up, but we hope this reward will prompt someone to come forward with relevant information that helps solve this vicious crime.”

Anyone with information on the murders of Chanette Neal and Justice Allen is asked to dial 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324), or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587).
