New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is facing another allegation of sexual harassment, this time from a woman currently employed by his office. Alyssa McGrath, a 33-year-old executive assistant, told The New York Times that Cuomo stared inappropriately at her body and commented on her looks.

A current aide to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has accused him of sexual harassment. On Friday (March 19), The New York Times published an article about the allegations from Alyssa McGrath. She says Cuomo told her she was beautiful in Italian, asked about the status of her divorce and made comments about why she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring. The aide also said the governor looked down her shirt and made a remark about the necklace she was wearing.
According to The Hill, McGrath is the first current employee of the governor’s office to publicly come forward with her allegations, but she is the latest among several women to accuse the governor of misconduct.
arlier this month, REVOLT reported that Cuomo had been accused of sexual harassment by one of his former female aides. The unidentified woman said she was called to the governor’s home last year to assist him with a cell phone problem. During the visit, she said Cuomo closed the door and proceeded to reach under her blouse “to fondle her.”
Cuomo, who was already under investigation for claims made by two other former female employees, denied the allegation, saying, “I have never done anything like this.” He also said the “details of this report are gut-wrenching.”
Cuomo’s attorney Rita Galvin told the Times that her client “has greeted men and women with hugs and a kiss on the cheek, forehead, or hand. Yes, he has posed for photographs with his arm around them. Yes, he uses Italian phrases like, ‘Ciao bella.’”
The governor is currently under investigation for the claims, as well as how he has handled the state’s nursing home deaths during the pandemic.
Although state lawmakers and members of the congressional delegation have called for his resignation, Cuomo has shown no signs that he will step down.
