Chrissy Teigen opened up about her decision to curtail her drinking in an effort to better her lifestyle.
The 31-year-old explained that it became normal for her to drink a lot at high profile events and realized one day that she needed to make a change.

“I was, point blank, just drinking too much,” Teigen told Cosmopolitan. “I got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine. Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show. And then a bunch at the awards show.
“Then I felt bad for making kind of an a– of myself to people that I really respected. And that feeling, there’s just nothing like that,” she continued. “You feel horrible. It’s not a good look for me, for (husband) John (Legend), for anybody.”
Teigen — who gave birth to a daughter, Luna, 16 months ago — told the magazine that members of her family have battled alcohol abuse in the past, and added that she “can’t have just one drink” herself.
The former Sports Illustrated swimsuit covergirl also noted that she takes medication for postpartum depression and anxiety, and explained that “alcohol is like the least thing that helps.”
Teigen told Cosmo that everyone had just assumed she was OK when it came to drinking, but she knew deep down that she needed to make a change. She recently went to Bali with her mother for a wellness retreat, where she didn’t have a single drink and was thrilled with the results.
“I would wake up feeling amazing,” Teigen said. “My skin felt amazing. I was just so happy.”
She says she now has a newfound understanding for the people who make an effort to be completely sober all the time.
“I used to think it was kind of nutty to have to go totally sober, but now I get it,” Teigen said. “I don’t want to be that person. … I have to fix myself.”
We’re all for people doing what they need to do to get their life right. Kudos to you, Chrissy!
