Chris Brown and Tinashe may have collaborated on her single “Player” earlier this year, but it’s safe to say these two are no longer friends.
It all started when Chris Brown made insensitive comments about Kehlani’s suicide attempt. Tinashe (and several others) unfollowed Chris on social media.
Chris responded on Instagram, by saying:
“They called and needed my help, not the other way around. I’ve been around for a bit, so these ‘celebrities’ fade out musically if they aren’t original or let’s face it, actually talented.”
San Francisco’s KMEL asked Tinashe about Chris’ response in an interview and she “laughed it off.”
“I felt like it was just so unnecessary,” she said. “I was just like, ‘Whatever.’…That’s just so unnecessary. I just think it’s silly. It’s petty. What’s the benefit?”
She continued by saying she’d be open to talking to Chris about the situation face-to-face.
“It’s not even worth it. “It’s not a big deal to me. I don’t think that follows on Twitter are a big deal…If I see him, I would love to speak to him. I would love if he reached out. I have absolutely nothing against him. We were on good terms as far as I knew.”
Somehow Chris took offense to Tinashe’s interview and popped off (again) saying some pretty rude and disrespectful things about her.
