‘Black Lightning’ star China Anne McClain took to Twitter with accusations that singer Anita Baker was rude to her mother during a recent encounter.
According to China’s tweet, her mother simply complimented Ms. Anita on her music when Anita popped off.
Wow.. My mom unfortunately just met Anita Baker and she was so rude.. She like, started yelling at my mom for saying she liked her music. Wow. So disappointing. @Iamanitabaker

Anita says that’s not true and that she was China’s mother was being extra.

It almost sounds like Anita was annoyed with being recognized in that moment. Still, China says that Anita’s reaction was rude and uncalled for.
My mother is a pro, Ms. Baker. She knows how to QUIETLY compliment someone, which is what happened (there were only like 8 people there)

We’ve known for Anita to cop an attitude from time-to-time, so we’re more inclined to believe China’s version of events.
