Bryshere Gray joins BET’s ‘New Edition: The Movie’ in the role of Michael Bivins.
He’ll be acting alongside the rest of the cast, including Luke James as Johnny Gill, Elijah Kelley as Ricky Bell, Straight Outta Compton‘s Keith Powers as Ronnie DeVoe, Algie Smith as Ralph Tresvant, and Woody McClain as Bobby Brown.
If you’re concerned about this turning out to be another Lifetime mess — don’t worry! Five of New Edition’s members are consulting and executive producing the film. The script was written by Abdul Williams and the movie is being directed by ATL director, Chris Robinson.
New Edition: The Movie will be separated into three parts, with plans to start production in May.
It’s scheduled to air in 2017.
