Adele made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today.
During her chat, she talked about the technical issue that affected her Grammy Awards performance of “All I Ask.”
The piano mics fell on to the piano strings, that's what the guitar sound was. It made it sound out of tune. Shit happens. X

“I cried pretty much all day,” she said. “In fairness I would have cried if it went really well as well. If it was a standout performance, I would have cried as well. I always cry.”
She also revealed that she gets more stage freight these days than before and that could be why she didn’t pick up the microphone that was causing issues.
“If it wasn’t live TV I would have busted a joke, but because it’s TV that’s why I couldn’t make the disaster my own,” she said. “Next time I have any sound issues, I am going to start over. Like, ‘Sorry, that’s not working for me. If we have time to do again, let’s do it. Otherwise, bye.'”
That’s probably what we would have done too.
Before leaving the show, she recorded a special voicemail greeting for Ellen, helped partake in a hilarious hidden camera prank at a Jamba Juice, and performed “All I Ask” for the audience.
