Aaliyah’s Music Could Soon Appear On Streaming Services [Photos]

Stop us if you have heard this story before. Aaliyah’s music is set to appear on streaming services next year, but this time it seems like it might actually be happening.

Aaliyah’s official Twitter and Instagram page announced today that the estate is now in control of Aaliyah’s YouTube Page and that 2021 will be the year of Aaliyah.

As of right now we don’t know what content will be posted, Aaliyah made some of the most amazing music videos it would be great to see them in 4K HD.

We were told something similar last year, there were rumors of Aaliyah’s music hitting streaming in January. Then in August the her estate announced that they’ve begun discussions with various record labels to finally bring out her music catalog. “To our loyal fans: We are excited to announce that communication has commenced between the estate and various record labels about the status of Aaliyah’s music catalog, as well as its availability on streaming platforms in the near future,” the statement reads. “Thank you for your continued love and support. More updates to come!”

If you need a deep dive or reminder to why the music isn’t available, Complex did a great story all about why it isn’t available for streaming or sale on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, or any other online music service.

Who knows what we are going to get but it seems like we are moving a step closer to something happening.
