The Human Rights Foundation has asked Nicki Minaj to cancel a performance scheduled for Saturday in Angola. The country has been ruled by dictator José Eduardo dos Santos since 1979 and has a long history of human rights violations. According to some, dos Santos’ government is one of the most corrupt governments in Africa.

Thor Halvorssen, head of Human Rights Foundation, sent a letter to Nicki asking her to cancel the performance and to NOT perform for the dictator and his family.

He wrote:

Ms. Minaj, you are well known for being involved with charities such as the Get Schooled Foundation, which helps motivate young people to graduate from high school and succeed in college. If you move forward with this performance for the dictator and his family, you will be in league with the people stealing educational resources and opportunity from young Angolans.

This morning, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram & Twitter to respond to the request — somewhat indirectly.

She began by promoting the event, encouraging fans in Angola to purchase tickets for the show.

She then followed up with a righteous tweet about to judgement.

We think it’s safe to say Nicki fully plans on performing in Angola. Do you think Nicki should cancel her show?
