If you haven’t, check out this hilarious video of Kathy Griffin trying to kiss Anderson Cooper’s crotch on live television. Last night, Kathy was asked about her crotch close-up by David Letterman. Check out what she had to say in her defense below!

Asked by David Letterman about it on The Late Show Wednesday night, the comedian said she has no regrets about trying to kiss coanchor Anderson Cooper‘s nether region during their CNN telecast in Times Square.

“If you think this is the part where I’m going to apologize…you are sorely mistaken,” she said. “I tried, ladies and gays, I tried. For you.”

Saying he “didn’t have a dog in this fight,” Dave rolled the clip again then asked her if the roles reversed and “a man on television did that to you,” what would she think.

To which Kathy quipped: “If it was Anderson Cooper, myself and every other gay guy and woman, I’d unzip so fast. Boom. Hands down.”

While most of us thought it was funny, the Parents Television Council wasn’t having it. They slammed both Kathy and CNN, saying:

“For the past few years, CNN has placed its New Year’s Eve broadcast in the hands of a narcissistic Kathy Griffin, who has shown increasing contempt for the audience through her obscene and unhinged behavior,” the group said in a statement. “The onus is now on CNN. Either the network has a policy that allows its on-air talent to fondle a co-anchor’s genitals, or it has a policy that forbids such conduct. We ask CNN’s new CEO Jeff Zucker which one it is.”

A rep for CNN could not be reached for comment.
