Just a few days after it was announced that Kerry Washington signed an overall production deal with ABC Studios — we get news that Viola Davis signed an overall deal of her own!

Under the pact, Davis and her partner Julius Tennon will develop new projects for broadcast, cable, and streaming services through their production company, JuVee Productions, for ABC Studios and its cable/digital division ABC Signature.
As part of the deal, JuVee has brought in Andrew Wang to serve as Head of Television Development and Production. Wang comes from Bravo, where he was VP and head of Scripted Television Development and Production, overseeing the network’s foray into original scripted programming, including the development and launch of Bravo’s breakout first scripted series,Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, as well as followups Odd Mom Out and the upcoming My So-Called Wife.
We’re beyond thrilled to see more Black women taking their rightfully-earned seats at the table and can’t wait to see what both Kerry and Viola come up with.
