Say What Now? The Onion Calls 9-Year-Old Quvenzhane Wallis A C-nt

At just 9-years-old, Quvenzhane Wallis is the youngest person to ever be nominated for an Academy Award.

This night should have been a time of celebration for the actress, but some folks over at The Onion decided to post some disgusting remarks about the child actress.

Check out this disturbing tweet:

And get this, the tweet sat on the site for a full 45 minutes after it was posted. It was removed after many on Twitter became upset and began questing why someone at The Onion would post such a horrible comment about a child.

What do you all think about this?

  • Some cunt at the Onion is really mean.

  • It’s the Onion. If you took them seriously and freaked out then you did exactly what they wanted you to do. I find that hilarious in and of itself.

Like who really gives a shit about the Onion.. its not even real news, its a satire site thats comprised of comedians.. people need to stop being stupid about stuff others say, its called free speech it doesnt have to be NICE

  • SKW

Being The Onion, it was clearly meant to be a joke but… I don’t get it. There’s nothing funny about it. Laziest joke ever.

  • Sleepy Chimp

People talking about free speech and blah blah blah.. this wasn’t really a matter of free speech. It’s about a tasteless joke from crappy comedians. It’s not against the law to call a child names like that, but it is definitely frowned upon.

ok first off they didnt call her “a cunt”(noun) they called her cunt (adjective) which in the slang world especially among the homosexual community is considered a compliment. RuPaul has even given the word an acronym: Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent. While it was inappropriate they could have said fierce and been in the same context I take more offense at AP trying to call her “annie” instead of taking the time to find out how to pronounce her name.

  • She’s a baby how does that word even apply to her?
