Who Knew? T-Pain Shows Off His Vocal Skills Without Auto-Tune…and He Can Sing! [Video]

T-Pain is known for his auto-tune heavy hits such as “I’m Sprung,” “Bartender,” “Drankin’ Patna” and “Buy U A Drank,” but did you know T-Pain sounds just as good (if not better) without auto-tune?

T-Pain may have re-ignited the auto-tune trend, but now that every rapper and their mother is using it T is noticeably absent from the radio.

As a pat of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series, the Tallahassee native performed three of his songs with nothing but his voice, a microphone, and a keyboardist.

He said:

People felt like I was using it to sound good. But I was just using it to sound different.
