Celine Dion took the stage at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards with an emotional cover of Queen’s “The Show Must Go On” — a more than fitting song for someone who lost both her husband, René Angélil, and brother in a span of two days back in January.
Joined by Lindsay Sterling, Celine commanded the stage and delivered a powerhouse vocal performance.
After performing, her son Rene-Charles presented her with the ICON award and stood next to her while she gave a moving speech.
She thanked her fans, family, children, and “most importantly, my beloved husband who I know will continue to watch over me from above.”
She concluded her speech with words for her late husband, “Rene, this one’s for you. The show must go on.”
Watch her speech below. We’ll update the post with Performance video added!performance video as it’s available.
