Steven Sheerer was arrested in New Jersey on Friday night in connection with the recent disappearance of Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter and charged with distribution of obscenity to a minor and endangering the welfare of a child.

With Rosie’s permission, detectives confiscated Rosie’s daughter’s phone on Friday morning and found evidence of inappropriate texts between her and Sheerer over the last several weeks. Sheerer’s computer was also confiscated during his arrest.

If you recall, Rosie reported her 17-year-old daughter missing earlier this week, and she was later found in Sheerer’s home. It was revealed days later that the two had met on Tinder and that Sheerer had been arrested in 2012 for possession of heroin.

If convicted of both third-degree charges, Sheerer could face more than five years in prison.

His bail is set at $40,000.
