Scarface Says His Kidneys ‘Never Came Back’ After Coronavirus Battle: ‘I’m Supposed to Be Dead’

Rapper Scarface has revealed that is still recovering from significant kidney damage caused by coronavirus.

It has been three months since he first tested positive for the disease.

The artist, whose real name is Brad Jordan, tested positive for Covid-19 in March after suffering from symptoms including a fever and difficulty breathing.

Speaking to Fox 5 DC, Scarface updated fans on his current health, saying: “I’m still a little weak. I don’t have a lot of strength in my legs yet, I still haven’t got full taste back and sense of smell yet. But I am glad to be alive.”

The 49-year-old musician revealed that he is still using a dialysis machine “every day”, explaining: “Covid attacked my lungs first, and then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out. I got full lung recovery, but my kidneys never came back.”

He continued: “It’s serious, you could be going on with your life and then that very next moment you could lose everything. Kidney function, liver function, lung function, heart function – you can actually die from the Covid, it’s crazy. It can actually kill you.

“I was sick for a whole month… I almost died right here in this bedroom. If you ask my kidney specialist, she will tell you that I’m supposed to be dead. I was supposed to be among the 100,000 that have transitioned. I hate to put it like that but that’s the truth.”

Back in March, Scarface described coronavirus as “the craziest s*** I’ve ever seen in my life”, adding: “I’ve been to the point where I felt like I was gonna die.”

That’s terrifying. Keep in mind, just because the country is opening up doesn’t mean that COVID-19 still isn’t a serious threat.
