Say What Now? Colorado Man Hits $1 Million Powerball Jackpot Two Times in the Same Day

A Colorado man hit a stroke of luck not once, but twice — in the same day — when he won two  $1 million Powerball jackpots within 24 hours.

He’s only being identified by the name “Joe B” and won twice on March 25 after playing the same numbers for the past 30 years.

via Complex:

KUSA-TV reports that he cashed his winnings this past Friday, and that he bought the tickets from a pair of stores about a mile apart. One ticket was purchased in the morning, and the other ticket was purchased in the evening. If that sounds desperate, well then perhaps you just haven’t landed your first job yet.

Joe B. was able to claim his money, despite the ongoing pandemic, because the government entity running the state lottery board gave approval earlier this month to process tickets totaling more than $10,000 at a drive-thru claims center.

Fox 8 reports that winners have to “make an appointment to claim their prize, or do so through the mail.” But if you haven’t won more than $10,000 through a lottery in Colorado, feel free to disregard that.

Anyway, congrats to Joe B. Best of luck on keeping that last name a secret.

Let’s hope this doesn’t turn in to a McMillions-style documentary in the next 10 years.
