The legendary Betty Wright has passed away.
The R&B/Soul icon was 66.
While we have yet to receive official confirmation of her passing, family and friends of the singer are reacting to the news on social media.

On May 2, Chaka Khan took to Twitter calling for payers for her ‘beloved sister’ as it appears she was battling an illness prior to her reported passing.

Betty Wright’s death comes at the end of a difficult weekend for the music industry and fans alike as we’ve said goodbye to Andre Harrell, Little Richard, and now Mrs. Wright in a matter of days.
