A few days ago DJ Khaled proposed to Nicki Minaj in a hilarious on-air prank for MTV. Or at least we all thought it was a prank.
The 37-year-old recorded a special video message to the Nicki, confessing his major crush on her.
“Nicki Minaj, I’m at MTV, I’m going to be honest with you; I love you. I like you, I want you, I want you to be mine,” he said in the video. “Only reason I’m not telling you this face to face is because I understand that you’re busy.”
He continued, “I feel like you need a man like me in your life … we got the same symptoms, we’re both suffering from success. [If] you gotta take your time and think about it, I understand, but I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and how serious this is to me.”
The hip hop star finished the video with a very public, if not romantic, proposal: “Nicki Minaj, will you marry me?” he asked, flashing a reported $500,000 10-carat ring for the singer/rapper.
Watch the proposal below:
How did Nicki respond? She hasn’t said anything publicly, but word on the street is that she’s filed a restraining order against DJ Khaled. Apparently this isn’t the first time he’s professed his love for her.
According to RollingOut.com:
The Young Money first lady has allegedly responded to Khaled’s affections by filing a restraining order in her home state of New York. According to FOX News, this is just the latest in a series of incidents where Khaled decided to show his love for Nicki. The DJ reportedly sent her flowers and various packages before. And he has unexpectedly shown up at her shows all across the country, according to reports.
A day after his proposal stunt, Khaled posted a screenshot of Nicki from his music video for “Take It To the Head” along with the caption “Beautiful.”
If this is true, then yikes!
