Loni Love called into the Tom Joyner Morning Show to talk about ‘The Real’ co-hosts’ upcoming trip to the 2016 ESSENCE Festival.

She tells the show,

“The Real is going to the Essence Festival. It’s a live show and we’re very excited about it. It’s aimed at making it a live girl chat.”

Of course you can’t talk ‘The Real’ without addressing the drama behind Tamar Braxton’s exit. According to Loni, she and Tamar haven’t spoken.

“I haven’t talked to Tamar but I’ve seen her messages,” said Loni. She’s made her peace with the show. But we’re going to miss her. She was an asset to the show. But we have to move on and think about the fans.”

Loni also says that the situation went down a lot like Michael Strahan’s departure from ‘Live’ in that no one knew Tamar was getting fired until it happened.

As far as a replacement, Loni says the show IS looking — and suggested Larenz Tate.
