Kandi Burruss Explains Why She’s Not Doing New Music With Xscape: ‘I Don’t Want to Mess With Our Legacy’ [Video]

Kandi Burruss is opening up about why she decided not to do new music with the rest of Xscape.

A few months ago, Kandi made the announcement alongside LaTocha, Tamika and Tiny during an episode of ‘Watch What Happens Live’ saying she wasn’t recording new songs with the girls because she was headed to Broadway.

In a new interview, Kandi elaborated more on why she decided not to participate.

“As soon as the girls and I started talking initially I had told them I didn’t really want to do new music and the main reason is because I feel like I don’t want to mess with our legacy,” Kandi said. “When we were a group we had three platinum albums, all of our albums were hits, we never had a flop album and things are not how they used to be back then.”

She continued:

“Now we’re just four different women with four totally different creative ideas. I don’t feel like we see eye-to-eye, creatively, on what the music should be. I would hate for us to put out something that’s not as good. I just feel like it kinda tarnishes things.”

Speaking of ‘not as good’ — have you listened to Xscape’s latest song, “Here for It”?
