As fascination with “Tiger King” star Joe Exotic continues, he’s participating in a series coming to Investigation Discovery.
“Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic” will explore the disappearance of Jack “Don” Lewis, first husband of Exotic’s nemesis Carole Baskin.
“It’s going to take a deeper dive into the crime,” an insider said. “Joe has a contract for the project, and he is going to be participating,” although it’s unclear exactly how — since he’s locked up.
Lewis vanished in 1997. Exotic accused Baskin of foul play, which she denied. After the popularity of Netflix’s “Tiger King,” a local sheriff, Chad Chronister, is seeking new leads in the case. Exotic is serving 22 years for a murder-for-hire plot to off Baskin and violating multiple wildlife laws.
ID honcho Henry Schleiff said of the new project: “Millions of true crime fans around the world were left wanting more … It’s time to let the ‘cat out of the bag’ and address the lingering questions.” Netflix is reportedly releasing a new episode of the docuseries next week.
