J Prince Says He Called Drake and Told Him Not to Respond to Pusha-T

It’s been almost a week and Drake has yet to respond to Pusha-T’s “The Story of Adidon” diss track — and it looks like his inner circle is advising him against it.

James “J.” Prince is the CEO of Rap-A-Lot Records and he has a long history with Drake. His son, Jas Prince, is even credited for discovering Drake on MySpace and introducing him to Lil Wayne and the rest of Cash Money Records. During an interview with DTLR Radio on Saturday, Prince said he thought Pusha-T’s diss was disrespectful and revealed that he’s encouraged Drake to avoid responding.

“I spoke with Drake,” Prince said. “I made an OG call to Drake this morning, telling him, ‘I don’t want you to respond to this. We’re going to put this to bed.'” He added, “We’re going to put this to bed because we can’t get into the pigpen with pigs. Because pigs turn into hogs and hogs get slaughtered.”

“That’s not [Drake’s] character,” Prince continued. “We didn’t work this hard to cheat ourselves over nothing. So that’s the way that is.”

In another radio interview with WPGC 95.5 on Friday, Prince elaborated on his feelings about Pusha-T taking things too far. “I think this guy is being disrespectful,” he said. “My book is called The Art and Science of Respect, so it’s hard for me to not say he’s being disrespectful […] It’s one thing for me and you to be in a situation and it’s another thing for you to take it out on my momma or my dad. So I have a problem.”

Kanye West has also called for an end to the feud, declaring it ‘dead.’
