The 72-year-old opened the ceremony by singing the national anthem.
This isn’t the first degree the ‘Rock Steady’ singer has also received. Aretha received an honorary doctorate in music from Princeton University, Yale, the University of Michigan, Berklee College of Music, and the New England Conservatory of Music.
